Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed as of 12:00 a.m., April 7, there were 4,643 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 1,054,298.
There are 2,384 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19. Of that number, 446 patients are in the intensive care unit with COVID-19. Most of the patients hospitalized are ages 65 or older, and most of the deaths have occurred in patients 65 or older. More data is available here.
Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) and Department of Health today announced the opening of a Regional Vaccination Clinic (RVC) at the Bryce Jordan Center on Penn State’s University Park campus in Centre County.
“Initially, this site will administer 600 doses per day, with the capacity to administer more as operations ramp up,” said PEMA Director Randy Padfield. “This is a centrally-located site that will serve thousands of people from not only Centre County but also surrounding counties as well.”
Harrisburg, PA – The Department of Health (DOH) today shared a weekly update on Pennsylvania’s COVID-19 case investigation and contact tracing data, encouraging Pennsylvanians to download the COVID Alert PA app, as more than 864,000 have already done, to aid in contact tracing efforts.

Gov. Tom Wolf today visited Weis Markets in Enola, Cumberland County, to recognize the heroic efforts of Pennsylvania’s grocery store workers, who are now eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine.
The governor expressed his gratitude to Pennsylvania’s 180,000 grocery store workers, who suddenly became frontline workers as the state took critical steps to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Grocery stores were deemed life-sustaining businesses, and these employees put their lives at risk to ensure their stores remained open to the public.
