PITTSBURGH, PA – October 28, 2024 – Today, Senator Jay Costa announces funding for three critical projects benefitting key projects in the 43rd senatorial district. In total, these funds add up to $1,349,366.

“These three projects are near and dear to my heart, and it’s an honor to be doing my part to support their work,” said Senator Costa. “From honoring our fallen firefighters to restoring a crucial community building to ensuring young people can get to school, these three projects demonstrate the beauty and resilience of our communities. I look forward to seeing these dollars getting this work over the finish line.”

The three recipients are as follows:

  • Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh was awarded $1,000,000 so that Frick Art & Historical Center, Inc. to restore The Frick Pittsburgh Clayton.
  • Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh was awarded $224,366 for the Pittsburgh Fire Fighters Line of Duty Death Memorial. The Pittsburgh Fire Fighters IAFF Local No. 1 aim to create a lasting tribute to honor the brave men and women who sacrificed their lives in service to the city.
  • Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh was further awarded $125,000 so that TIP Social Enterprise can purchase two vehicles and a trailer to transport staff and crew members to job sites. The TIP Social Enterprise will offer time-limited, paid work experience to graduates from the 11-week masonry program who still have barriers to entering the workforce.
