PITTSBURGH, PA – October 22, 2024 – Today, Senator Jay Costa and Representative Joe McAndrew announce $1,464,942 in LSA Grants benefitting their constituents.

“I am delighted to be announcing the recipients of these LSA dollars to benefit our communities,” said Senator Costa. “These dollars will help deliver safety, quality of life, and basic needs to our friends and neighbors across the 43rd district. I look forward to seeing these dollars improve our municipalities and improving the daily experiences of our fellow residents.”

“The dollars awarded today will help save lives, give our kids great places to play, improve our infrastructure, will help keep our water bills in check and will create new affordable homes in our community,” said Representative McAndrew. “I am proud to be teaming up with Senator Costa to drive out these necessary funds. These grant recipients are valued community members doing incredible work. I am delighted to see this money go to work for the people we serve.”

With Representative Joe McAndrew, Senator Costa announces:

  • Oakmont Borough was awarded $600,000 for Riverside Park Improvements, including walking trail renovations, rubberized play surfaces, and ADA compliance, among other upgrades.
  • Penn Hills Municipality was awarded $200,000 for Jamar’s Tiny Village to purchase five prefabricated homes and two storage units to provide shelter for those in need.
  • Verona Borough was awarded $164,942 for Roadway Reconstructions.
  • Wilkinsburg Penn Joint Water Authority was awarded $500,000 for the purchase and installation of a Water Meter.
